Effects of Grazing Exclusion on Microbial Community Diversity and Soil Metabolism in Desert Grasslands

چکیده
In this study, the effect of 14 years GE exclusion in a desert grassland on soil microbial community diversity and metabolites was examined. changed bacterial structure, alpha community, total phosphorus (TP) potassium (TK) content soil. More specifically, relative abundance Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, Chloroflexi increased with GE. contrast, Acidobacteria higher during grazing (G), so it is believed that bacteria adapt to environmental changes. Both amino acid carbohydrate metabolism were enhanced, while lipid decreased under It concluded could trigger changes both metabolites, increase energy supply, regulate ecosystem function. Consequently, would have positive effects restoration grasslands by altering community. This work provides new insights into response microbes

Dynamics of Soil Organic Carbon and Aggregate Stability with Grazing Exclusion in the Inner Mongolian Grasslands.
Grazing exclusion (GE) has been deemed as an important approach to enhance the soil carbon storage of semiarid grasslands in China; however, it remains unclear how different organic carbon (OC) components in soils vary with the duration of GE. Here, we observed the changing trends of different OC components in soils with increased GE duration in five grassland succession series plots, ranging f...
متن کاملPlant community composition, not diversity, regulates soil respiration in grasslands.
Soil respiration is responsible for recycling considerable quantities of carbon from terrestrial ecosystems to the atmosphere. There is a growing body of evidence that suggests that the richness of plants in a community can have significant impacts on ecosystem functioning, but the specific influences of plant species richness (SR), plant functional-type richness and plant community composition...
متن کاملMicrobial community response to hydration-desiccation cycles in desert soil
Life in desert soil is marked by episodic pulses of water and nutrients followed by long periods of drought. While the desert flora and fauna flourish after rainfall the response of soil microorganisms remains unclear and understudied. We provide the first systematic study of the role of soil aqueous habitat dynamics in shaping microbial community composition and diversity. Detailed monitoring ...
متن کاملA six-year grazing exclusion changed plant species diversity of a Stipa breviflora desert steppe community, northern China
Excluding grazers is one of most efficient ways to restore degraded grasslands in desert-steppe communities, but may negatively affect the recovery of plant species diversity. However, diversity differences between grazed and fenced grasslands in desert-steppe are poorly known. In a Stipa breviflora desert steppe community in Northern China, we established six plots to examine spatial patterns ...
متن کاملAn Assessment of Grazing Effects on Soil Carbon Stocks in Grasslands
Grazing ; modifies the structure and function of ecosystems, affecting soil organic carbon (SOC) storage. Although grazing effects on some ecosystem < attributes have been thoroughly reviewed, current literature on grazing effects on SOC needs to be synthesized. Our objective was to synthesize the effects of grazing on SOC stocks in grasslands, establishing the major mechanistic pathways involv...
